Rise Up Cancer Foundation was born out of pain, purpose, and a deep desire to help others.
Four years ago, my 32-year-old daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer. Less than a month later, my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My daughter found her lump early through a breast self-exam, and because of early detection and treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, lumpectomy, and immunotherapy, she survived.
My husband’s prostate cancer was not detected as early as we had hoped. He fought courageously for four years before recently passing away from the disease.
Today, my commitment is stronger than ever. Rise Up Cancer Foundation exists to promote early detection, encourage regular screenings, provide compassionate support, and help families navigate the complex and emotionally difficult journey of a cancer diagnosis.
